December marks the return of an unmissable event for the City of Carmagnola: the 32nd Fair of the Piedmontese Beef Cattle and Giora, alongside the 15th Long Sweet Leek Market Exhibition of Carmagnola.
This highly significant event, dedicated to the excellence of local traditions, will take place from December 15 to 18, 2024. It offers a unique opportunity to explore the quality of typical regional products, highlighting the agricultural and cultural heritage of the area.
The Foro Boario in Piazza Italia will host a diverse program featuring exhibitors, tastings, and activities for all ages. The fair becomes a moment of both leisure and learning, attracting families, food enthusiasts, and industry professionals.
On Sunday, the day will begin with the exhibition of Piedmontese cattle and giora, judged by experts who will select the best specimens in each category. The winners will be awarded a traditional satin-colored cover, a distinctive mark of quality. In addition to the cattle selection, visitors can admire a large display of agricultural machinery, livestock equipment, and cereal farming tools.
A key attraction will be the market of agricultural and artisanal excellence, showcasing a selection of seasonal and processed food products from the region. Alongside it, the creativity market will feature local craftsmanship.
In collaboration with the Baldessano-Roccati Agricultural Institute, the fair will also host the 15th Long Sweet Leek Market Exhibition of Carmagnola, a product recognized for its exceptional quality and unique characteristics. Visitors can also enjoy tastings of Piedmontese beef dishes, prepared by local butchers.

The Food District will also play a central role in collateral activities. A children’s entertainment area, managed by an educational farm affiliated with the Chierese-Carmagnolese Food District, will provide fun experiences for young visitors.
For those interested in exploring the region’s natural beauty, the Carma Natural Tour offers a guided excursion to the Gerbasso Forest and the Natural History Museum, led by guides from Po Piemontese Park and Le Giav.
Additionally, a special outdoor market will animate the city center, allowing visitors to purchase typical and artisanal products. The day will conclude with the traditional charity dinner, organized by the Gran Bollito Brotherhood in collaboration with Ascom and Pro Loco. The dinner will be held at the Fair Hall at 7:30 PM, offering an opportunity to savor local delicacies in a warm and convivial atmosphere. Tickets are available at Bertero, Burzio, and Sandri butcher shops in Carmagnola.
On Monday, December 16, the Fair Hall will host a conference titled “The Chierese-Carmagnolese Food District Explores Giora and Leek: Local Excellence.” The event will feature Simona Riccio, a digital strategist specializing in the agri-food sector, along with local producers and butchers, who will share their experiences. Thanks to the involvement of students from the Baldessano-Roccati and Norberto Bobbio institutes, the discussion will explore the balance between tradition and innovation, concluding with a free tasting.
On Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the Foro Boario will host the Piedmontese cattle auction, a key networking event for regional farmers. Meanwhile, the regular street market will take place as usual in Via Valobra and Piazza IV Martiri.
This event is not just a celebration of agri-food quality—it is a shining example of how a community can come together to preserve and innovate its traditions.
